The Chandris Hotels group envisioned hotels as warm and welcoming environments brimming with luxurious details that make a difference and began to bring that vision to life in 1972 with the creation of the first hotel, the Chios Chandris. The Athens Marriott Hotel, delivering an original and contemporary aesthetic, was built in 1977 and redesigned in 2018, whilst in 2009, a brand new five star design property, The Met Hotel, was added to the hotel chain launching an avant-garde hospitality concept in the vibrant city of Thessaloniki.

The Environment

In all Chandris properties, we are developing environmental programs based on the fundamental commitments made regarding our sustainable development to minimize our environmental footprint. We take wide-ranging measures to protect biodiversity, reduce our consumption of water, energy and other resources, avoid waste, and combat climate change.

By implementing certified sustainability programs, we aim to provide high quality services while respecting both the environment and local communities.

Safety

Health and safety has always been of paramount importance and our confidence in this field greatly assisted us in adhering to the strictest protocol levels during the crisis of Covid 19.

With particular attention paid to, and funds invested in, fire precautionary measures such as smoke detectors and sprinklers in the bedrooms and public areas in all properties, evacuation and fire drills are carried out on a regular basis. Additionally, regular checks are carried out in all hotels on the quality and safety of water. The Chandris hotels have professional lifeguards on duty in all swimming pools according to regulations.

Concerning food safety an ISO 22000:2005 management system is being implemented in our properties to prevent any food related hazards.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the Chandris Hotels’ commitment to improve the quality of life for its associates and their families, as well as the surrounding community and society as a whole. It is reflected in many of our policies and is practiced at Chandris Hotels through various initiatives and activities that are carried out and through grants awarded by the company.
