THE ENVIRONMENT
We respect the environment in every way and are always looking for areas to reduce our impact.
In June 1993, Chandris Hotels became a member of the International Hotels' Environment Initiative, which is an association of the principal hotel chains from all over the world.
The hotels have devised strategies to reduce waste products, store them in safety and to recycle as many materials as possible. Our guests are informed of this initiative by a special leaflet placed in every room of the chain, as we believe that our clients will value and recognize these efforts as environmentally valuable.
In the context of our efforts to protect the environment, the Corfu Chandris Hotel has scheduled a series of lectures focused on the island's natural wealth so that every visitor will be acquainted with its flora and fauna by experts.
Our beach in Corfu has been awarded the annual Blue Flag indicating safe & healthy swimming conditions every year since 1990.
Safety
Specific attention has been paid and funds invested in fire precautionary measures such as outside emergency staircases, smoke detectors and sprinklers in the bedrooms in Corfu, Athens,Thessaloniki and Chios. Regular checks are carried out in all hotels on the quality and safety of water. The Chandris hotels have professional lifeguards on duty.
